Gorilla Mix — Lifestyle Merchandise & Brand Extension

Great brands don’t end at the product—they create an experience that customers can carry into their everyday lives.

Building upon the established Gorilla Mix brand identity, I expanded the supplement line into a lifestyle merchandise collection by designing a signature graphic t-shirt, a branded progress journal, and the accompanying e-commerce experience for YahkiApparel.com. The goal was to transform Gorilla Mix from a nutritional supplement into a recognizable lifestyle brand that customers could wear, use, and identify with beyond the product itself.

The apparel design preserves the visual language established throughout the Gorilla Mix packaging system. Centered around the signature gorilla illustration, the composition combines bold typography, layered textures, and vibrant accent colors with the brand’s defining message:

“This Is More Than A Pre-Workout. This Is A Lifestyle.”

Rather than functioning as a simple slogan, the statement reinforces Gorilla Mix as a community and mindset—positioning the apparel as an extension of the customer’s personal identity.

To further enhance the customer experience, I designed a matching Gorilla Mix progress journal. Rather than creating a generic notebook, the journal was intentionally developed as a companion product, allowing customers to track workouts, document personal goals, monitor progress, and remain engaged throughout their Gorilla Mix wellness journey. This transformed the journal from branded merchandise into a practical tool that adds value to the customer’s daily routine.

Consistency remained central throughout the project. The typography, illustration style, color palette, messaging, and overall visual hierarchy were carefully maintained across both products, ensuring the apparel and journal felt like natural extensions of the Gorilla Mix brand rather than standalone promotional items.

To support the merchandise launch, I also designed YahkiApparel.com, creating a dedicated online storefront that provided a seamless shopping experience while reinforcing the same visual identity established across the Gorilla Mix product line.

This project demonstrates my ability to extend an established brand beyond its core product, creating cohesive merchandise, digital experiences, and supporting collateral that strengthen brand recognition, increase customer engagement, and build long-term brand loyalty.

With this project, RaeGrafix designed a scalable merchandise graphic that could be consistently applied across multiple product categories while maintaining brand recognition and visual impact.
