FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

Industry Professional Services

Every artist deserves to get paid for his/her music. Whether you’re an indie artist or a part of a major label, you deserve to make money too!

Putting Money Back into your Pockets

The first step is to decide whether or not being a part of the music industry is just a hobby, or a talent you want to nurture and craft. If it is just a hobby, you can still get paid, but it will cost you…time, effort and money. If it is a talent, the same applies, but you will make money doing what you love to do. The next step is to make sure your paper work is correct. There is nothing worse than to spend so much time and energy in your career only to get zero back in return. Why have your music played on the radio if you can’t get paid? Why perform live at shows if you don’t get paid for it? Why put out thousands of mixtapes on the streets if nothing can be gained from doing so?

What every artist needs…

  • SoundExchange Registration
  • Performance Rights Organization
  • Song/Album Copyrights
  • Registered Music Works Catalog
  • BDS/MediaBase Registration
  • Digital Distribution
  • A Custom Website Design by RaeShantael

Take the First Step…

Get your paper work done. Every artist needs a performance rights organization such as ASCAP or BMI. These organizations collect performance royalties on behalf of the publisher and the recording artist. If you perform in a live venue, add it to your performance log and you will get paid. If you have an album in stores, add it to your works catalog and you will get paid. It’s that simple.

Every artist needs SoundExchange to cover digital royalties. If you have a song in rotation on an internet radio station such as Southern Xsposure Radio, or satellite radio stations such as XM or Pandora, you will get paid if you are registered with SoundExchange.

Every artist needs a custom website design. Sure you can promote on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. But do you really want to be limited with all the restrictions of character counts, restricted tagging, the inability to post your music or videos, or having your content scattered across networks? On your own website, you can promote what you want as much as you want. You can even sell music from your own website. Still want to promote on Social Networks? You can link your social networks to your website. Stop saying, find me on IG at IAMSomebody or Facebook at facebook.com/somebodylovesme and on Twitter at moneyispower123 because with all those addresses, your fans can’t really keep up with how to find you. Make it easier on your fans. Give them a one stop shop for music, news, videos, photos, tours, events, and more.

Digital Royalty Collections

SoundExchange is the non-profit performance rights organization that collects statutory royalties from satellite radio (such as Pandora and SIRIUS XM), internet radio (Such as Southern Xsposure Radio AND SCM Gospel Radio), cable TV music channels and similar platforms for streaming sound recordings. The Copyright Royalty Board, which is appointed by The U.S. Library of Congress, has entrusted SoundExchange as the sole entity in the United States to collect and distribute these digital performance royalties on behalf of featured recording artists, master rights owners (like record labels), and independent artists who record and own their masters.

Performance Rights Organization - ASCAP

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a membership association of more than 427,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music. Through agreements with affiliated international societies, ASCAP also represents hundreds of thousands of music creators worldwide. ASCAP is the only U.S. performing rights organization created and controlled by composers, songwriters and music publishers, with a Board of Directors elected by and from the membership.

ASCAP protects the rights of its members by licensing and distributing royalties for the non-dramatic public performances of their copyrighted works. ASCAP’s licensees encompass all who want to perform copyrighted music publicly. ASCAP makes giving and obtaining permission to perform music simple for both creators and users of music.

Performance Rights Organization - BMI

BMI – Broadcast Music, Inc., is a global leader in rights management, collects license fees from businesses that use music, which it distributes as royalties to songwriters, composers & music publishers. BMI collects license fees on behalf of the more than 500,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers it represents and distributes those fees as royalties to members whose works have been PUBLICLY PERFORMED.

AARC (Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies)

This company is the leading US organization protecting the rights of featured artists and recording companies in the areas of Hometaping and rental rights. The purpose of AARC is to cover sales lost due to many people copying (duplicating) CDs instead of purchasing them. Since there is no way to know if a CD has been copied, AARC pays royalties for sales lost. The royalty amount is tracked by sales. Most likely, if a spool of rewritable discs is purchased, some professional CD is probably being copied. Therefore, all rewritable media has a royalty price included in the price of the spool to cover these losses.
